Due to its attractions, Alicante receives very many tourists every year. In Alicante, fish dishes are given a whole new taste with its variety ranging from fried Sardines to fish stews (or ‘sancocho’ as it is locally known). Alicante’s restaurants are usually busy at night when many tourists go in to have a nice meal from 20:00 to 21:00. There is no rush when dining there so one can head to in from 18:00, when they start opening for business.
Areas where you can find many restaurants include the town centre, while some are found in the town hall (ayuntamiento), along the Calle Miquel Saler. One can also head to Alicante’s old Quarter area and Plaza del Carmen. Most of the bars in the area open till late (4:00 AM).
